In 2024 we introduced our unique and highly celebrated learning block format. Learning blocks are the heart of the Utterly Content programme. They set us apart from other conferences by providing intensive learning and training sessions instead of just a series of inspirational talks.
Every 90-minute learning block must be made up of three 30-minute segments:
An introductory talk, setting the context for the session and sharing theory and best practice
A tool, template or technique that participants can apply to their own work right away
An interactive breakout or discussion session for peer learning.
We are seeking…
Speakers and sessions that offer original thought leadership and robust training on important topics relating to content strategy, content design and content marketing
A diverse selection of speakers representing a wide variety of backgrounds, nationalities and perspectives
People who will deliver an original talk for the first time. We tend not to select speakers who propose talks that they have already delivered at other conferences and events.
Choosing a topic and focus level
Utterly Content delivers inspiration and education with a global perspective to those working in or studying content strategy, content design and content marketing. When choosing your topic and the level to focus it on, please consider:
Our audience represents a relatively broad range of professional experience, from students and early career professionals, through to those at a senior level in a content strategy, content design or content marketing role. Some of our audience might be transitioning into content from another career path
Our audience is global, therefore we expect topics to speak to, be sensitive of, or be transferable to different cultural experiences. We also ask speakers to recognise that the maturity of content professions varies around the world
Topics must fall under one of the following three categories, and may offer a more specific focus under each or span all three:
Content strategy
Content design
Content marketing
The topic that you choose might introduce a new concept, or bring a fresh perspective on an existing concept, skill or approach
The “tool” segment must not be used to sell a product or service or a premium tool. We offer many sponsor partnership opportunities through our programme, but the 90 minute learning blocks must not be used to sell or promote an entity
As we value inclusion and equality in our programming, the tool, template or technique must be one that is attainable and useable by anyone attending our programme irrespective of financial circumstances or access to particular technologies that aren’t freely available
